A round up of 2018 and hopes for 2019

First of all, Happy New Year! I’m not usually one to write a reflection of my previous year. I’m not even much of a resolution setter, but I thought it might be a nice way to start 2019 on my blog. Change is also good, and I think it’s a pretty good way to start things as I mean to go on.

My 2018 contained a significant mixture of incredible highs and incredible lows. I finally finished my undergrad after six years, two universities and two courses, AND graduating. I also started my blog, moved to London and started my Master’s Degree… The latter six months of 2018 were pretty intense! I also travelled to a new country, went on an aeroplane for the first time in eight years and learnt a few words of Portuguese. I won’t go too deep into the lows, but it was a very challenging year.

In terms of 2019, I think there’s only a couple of things I’d really hope for. The health and happiness of all of my family and friends (and myself) is right up there at the top.

Following that, in terms of educational goals, I think 1. Completing the teaching block for my Master’s degree in March/April and 2. Writing my first dissertation and handing it in for our September deadline to complete my degree has got to be up there too. Also finding some work experience that will hopefully lead me somewhere on the path to greater things would be fantastic too.

In terms of blogging goals. I think my aim is to get back into my routine of writing blog posts again. This term is going to be another intense period but I’m going to try my best to keep to a routine. I also want to keep growing with both my blog and my instagram, and to attend more blogger events this year. The few I went to last year were really useful and I made some fabulous friends so to keep growing and to open myself up to more opportunities would be fabulous. Finally, to improve my ability to instagram story, and to start talking to the camera!

Lastly, in terms of life goals, I guess beginning my career has got to be pretty high on the list. I’ve done enough education for it, although I don’t think I’ll ever be truly prepared!

I think I’ve kept it pretty simple, and I don’t think there’s anything too extravagant on there. There will no doubt be other things as the year progresses but I’m happy with this for now! I would love to hear your thoughts – Do you have any goals in mind for the coming year? Are you more of a go-with-the-flow type like I usually am? Let me know below or send me a message on Instagram.
